The grail has been returned thanks to our members.

So a few weeks ago I purchased my grail Daytona while in Vegas. http://rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=181804

I was assured when I bought the watch it was 100% original from Tower of Jewels @ Paris Casino. http://www.towerofjewels.com/

After I purchased the watch Jagervegas warned me about a bad experience with the dealer (Tower of Jewels).

Well after the watch was shipped to me I posted some pics online and one of our astute members(thanks Kevin! (yessir69)) pointed out to me that my grail I just purchased was originally a two tone watch and not a stainless daytona. The dial has been replaced with a Mark 4 white dial, new bezel, and new bracelet. To be correct the ref number should have been a 16520, instead it was a 16523. The watch had been completely converted and sold to me as original.

It was my bad for not knowing more about watch but it was an impulse buy on vacation and I was assured it was legit. The watch was sold as 100% original and they even gave me an appraisal with the wrong reference numbers on it.

Long story short I called the dealer and informed them that the watch was grossly misrepresented and I wanted a full refund. They have a "no refund" policy but once I mentioned the words "chargeback" on my credit card they changed their tune.

Today the full credit posted back on my card .

I wanted to warn anyone traveling there to beware of this watch and these people. They claim that it was an oversight but who really knows. My guess is it's back for sale in the window waiting on another unsuspecting buyer.

It has been mentioned before to always buy the seller and it's can't be more true!

Thanks again to Jagervegas and yessir69 for giving me the heads up. I owe you guys a beer!

I hated returning a watch that I like so much but I'll find another one.

I love a happy ending !!! This made a great weekend better.
Good going Matt. Played out just perfect. Just goes to show you the power of a forum like this.

Tower of Jewels has been ripping off people for years. STAY FAR FAR AWAY from these guys, think have like 6 stores in town.

Now go get yourself the real deal Matt.

These forums have shut allot of bad guys out of the market over the years.Without mentioning names I can remember a few dealers that where doing nothing but conversions with fake bands and selling as real on ebay and in stores for years trouble free. Im glad you got your money back

I'm glad you resolved the situation. Good thing you used a credit card.

I was in Tower of Jewels (Sahara store) about a month ago. They had one Rolex SS Sub, so I asked to look at it. The salesperson said it was a 2003 model that had been completely serviced and came with a two year warranty. I noticed that the bezel had been polished so much it looked shiny (like a Sub-C). I asked how much.....they said retail on that one was 8000, and their price was 6000. I then asked if they could go any lower on the price...the answer was no.

So.....even though they had polished the bezel insert to make it "shiny"(which made it look non-factory), I am positive it was not a Sub-C, since I know what one looks like. They probably had the date right, it probably was a 2003 model, in which case the retail would not have been 8000. It came with an old box....but it wasn't in mint condition, probably very good condition (because of the bad bezel polishing job), in which case I think 6000 was high, even with a service and two year warranty.

Since the 116610 has only been around since 2010, it doesn't sound like they were trying to pass the model off as a Sub-C, given they were acknowledging it was a 2003 model. Still, there's no way a 16610 would have a retail of $8000, so they were full of it on that. This sounds like a bad outfit - definitely one to avoid. All the more reason to stick with a trusted AD.
