The London GTG: STEVE, MODS & all attendees PLEASE READ!
Guys....
I sent the Dickens Inn an email thanking them for setting the area aside for us & thanking them also for what I think we all agree was a simply perfect location. (I figure I'm quick enough to complain when something isn't right so I think it's only fair to comment equally when something's so spot-on! ..... I also thought it would stand us in good stead for the next one if we wanted to go back to The Dickens?! ) Well anyway I also gave the Manageress a link to our thread so she could see what a great time we had...... & she's just left me a voicemail asking if she can post my (& any other?) comments on their website.... & I imagine she might well ask if she can post a picture or two. So does anyone have any objection to The Dickens using my/our comments &/or our photo's/forum details? if asked for? I won't call her back until I've had 'permission' kind of thing but I really did think the venue was exceptional & I can well imagine we'll want to go back; so I'd really like to 'repay the favour' if possible. Thanks Chaps......

No problem with me! Having a relationship with them would be good for future London GTG if we want to stay there once in a while (i.e. discounts on food and drinks!!) :)

Totally agree with you! On a side note, maybe for the people who don't like pictures to be associated with a company, they can't use pictures but they can use their comment (but at the end of the day, its their call! )?

I would personally be more than happy for it to go ahead - as you've both pointed out, could be good if we want to use them again!

Dan, speaking just generally and not as an attendee at London (although I would have loved it): it is always a good idea to send kudos back to the establishment where the event was held. I did the same for the 4+ -star restaurant where we had the Pittsburgh GTG 2 weeks ago. You are correct - often times all these venues ever hear about is if something goes wrong or someone is for any reason unhappy.
By all means let them know how well you liked the establishment and how pleased you were with their performance. Not only will you make their day, but it will go a long way toward assuring similar hospitality for the next time you choose to go there. Plus it reflects well on the forum and the WIS community as a whole. Well done.

Fine by me. Are you sure it's not a ruse to make our faces known to the local Pub Watch scheme though ?
