Do these bezel removers work?

I was thinking of refurbishing my datejust 16013 myself. So thought of buying one of these bezel removers to allow me to polish the sides of the case, redo the brushed finish, and replace chipped lens.
My question is, does anyone know if these bezel removers work ok with Datejusts?

It depends on how thin that leading edge is on the lifter...the bezel can also be removed with a razor blade, inserting into/under the seam and then working your way around the case, lifting it gently until it comes loose.

The tough part is getting it back on evenly and securly and for that you'll need a press with the proper die that can evenly and smoothly press it down over the crystal.

Amateurs can and have done the crystal-ectomy...it's not really rocket science...but I'd be inclined to put my money on a proper bezel press and use the razorblade to remove it. Once off the watch, be very careful about protecting the open dial from dust and dings. And unless you're using a jackhammer, you can buff up the case without removing the crystal.

Good luck

Its an acrylic lens so am i correct in thinking the lens will come off with the bezel? I was planning on changing the lens at the same time as it has a chip out of it. I have seen the razor blade method, but i wondered if this could have the effect of bending the bezel, it being soft 18k gold?

they work like a charm, razors blades do not work properly for a datejust in my opinion, if its on properly its to tight and the razor bends, you risk cutting yourself also, subs and gmt no problem with a razor or a knife, but not datejust or day dates, you need this tool.

The razor is used just to start the process; you then switch to a pen knife for the actual removal of the bezel.

Done it dozens of times with zero problems.

Would this work on a GMT or Sub?
