Quickset Wackyness

Watch stopped last night at 8 PM. This morning I advanced the date and reset the time. Wound it, wore it, but at 12 noon the date advanced to the 9 th. Why did this happen -- when you set the date, the watch "asssumes" that it is the AM, no? Not the first time this has happened. If I don't wear the watch for a period of time, then use it, it's hit-or-miss as to whether of not it flips at midnight or noon (pattern). Am I missing a step?

Use the quickset to set it to the day before, then advance the hands until the date flips again, then set the correct time. That may mean advancing the hands past 12 again to get to pm.

The way you did it, with the watch stopped at 8 pm, guaranteed that it would flip at noon. You reset the date (watch thinks it's pm), set the time (watch still thinks it's pm, but you only advance the hands from 8 to the current time), and at noon, the date flips because the watch stopped at 8 pm when you flipped the date and then moved the time.

In that situation you should have moved the hands past 12 to flip the date, then moved the hands to the current time, and you'd have been good to go.

When any of my watches have stopped. I always advance the time until the date changes once so I know wether it is AM or PM. Once that occurrs then i set the correct date, then the time. No, the watch has a distinct AM and PM, this is not determined by the date setting it is detertmined by the time.
