Many threads begin by asking what activities you DO with your watch on...

I'd propose to ask what activities do you absolutely, positively, NOT do whilst wearing your watch?

Me?:
1.) If I were knowingly about to engage in a fist fight, it's going in the pocket. If not knowingly, then it's in for a bumpy ride. Thankfully this is an uncommon (read: never) occurance.
2.) Sleeping... and bumpin' uglies with a lil' honey.
3.) Showering.
4.) Walking through all those bad neighborhoods near me!

What will you positively NOT do while wearing your beauty?

Shower in particular or putting my hand and wrist into a tight space surrounded by hard objects and the best example is car engine compartment as mentioned

For me mainly sleeping and showering. I wear a watch pretty much all other times.

I wear mine to do everything except when I sleep or shower. I used to sleep with it on but I hit my partner on the head with my watch and left a nice impression of the cyclops lense on his head.

Outstanding! You can time yourself, maybe 2-3 seconds? Within COSC I'd bet.

But hey, whatever turns your bezel.

Gives a whole new meaning to "stretched links."

Ok, I'm done.

Well done, indeed.

What won't you do with your watch on?

Waterskiing (for fear of a spring bar failure in case of a fall).

Mine doesn't really come off for anything.

On rare occasion, I'll take it off when I fix a slung belt on the Cub Cadet.

However, I shoot, work, ride motorcycles, boat, fish (salt & fresh), snowboard, run a chainsaw...awe, hell -- I just WEAR it!

It's got all sorts of scratches on the bracelet and a few "dings" on the case. The clasp is no longer even remotely "polished" looking. The center links are lookin' "sad" by most's standards.

My mentality is "Meh...who cares?"

I never take my watch off, never have, always had waterproof ones since i was a kid, i sleep with it,wash etc... i even wore a vintage rolex during paintball!

I only ever take a watch off to take pictures of it or to clean it/change watch/set time/wind etc... maybe 1ce per month max..

If you have to ask whether to use your watch in one scenario or another, you probably shouldn't. I too find these threads to be mundane and repetitious. WEAR IT! DON'T WEAR IT! It is your call. What difference will it make to you if anyone wears theirs doing this or that.

I wear mine to fish, scuba dive, swim at the beach/pool and yes I travel with it EVERYWHERE. I don't care if I am in the worst country on the face of the planet. If you are going to get mugged, it will be your watch, wallet, travelers checks, etc. Just be vigilant of your surroundings and don't be a sucker. If a stranger compliments your watch in a foreign setting, tell them its fake and offer it for sale. Don't make it an issue or get scared. If you look nervous, they will know it has value. If that doesn't suit your style, leave it at home.

Best damned post in the whole thread and then some, thanks PEP
