Hey guys, looking to purchase my first rolex,

i need a watch i can wear everyday...
i own a cartier roadster xl, but never wear it at work(restaurant) bc its to heavy and big on my wrist.

So im trying to decide between a two tone ceramic sub or a ss daytona

any input??? thanks,

Get the TT ceramic sub. Has such an impact, unlike the Daytona IMHO. I had the Daytona and did not care for it at all. No date, plus it looked mighty small IMHO. I would never use the chronographs myself either.

Try them both on first, if the Cartier is too heavy and you wear it on a strap, these watches may also be too heavy for your liking.

I also have a Cartier Roadster, and I agree that the Daytona does feel relatively small. The new SubC should feel more substantial. Since you are looking for a smaller watch, you may go for SS Daytona. Also, this is probably the last batch of SS Daytona with steel bezel before the ceramic bezel model arrives. Try them on at an AD, you can't go wrong either way.

Well you are buying from Scott at top notch I assume from your other post... His price of the Daytona is 12K+.... You can find a better deal from a reliable source here. I'm sure his price of the TT sub is quite north as well. Either watch is fantastic!

The Sub is going to be heavier and a bit bigger than the Daytona as mentioned. The ceramic on the Sub will take more of a beating and still look better afterwards than the steel bezel of the Daytona. I think it best if you try both of them on and compare them first hand before making a decision.

Go with the TT Ceramic Sub. Has date function which you will want. Price point should be lower too, depending on the age of Daytona you would be considering.

You can wear either every day.

The Sub will be far less versatile - if it is the blue two tone. Think of how it will look with your clothes. Unless you are a waiter / have a uniform...might be easier.

I would do the blue, since i wear denim everyday, and i don't own a single piece of black in my wardrobe.

ps. not waiter, (i would never get tips!) restaurant owner...

my wrist are constantly in contact with stainless steel, bc of kitchen equipment, (expediting...)

The TT Subs are nice for sure. I have a blue one and love it. I only wish that they held their value as well as the stainless Daytona. That would be my thought, knowing what I know now.

Tough call. I tend to wear the SD and wore my old sub for casual and active endeavors. I won't wear the Daytona in those situations. The Daytona catches eyes, but the Sub and SeaDweller tend to be run of the mill. You see a lot of the latter. With that said, I'll always have a Sub or an old SD on my wrist - except when I'm wearing the Daytona. The Sub and old SD are more versatile I suppose. It is easier to see the hands too. The old Zenith Daytona I have keeps very accurate time - much much better than the SD.

If you own a BMW and are under 35, get the TT Sub. If you own a Porsche or Jag and are over 35, get the Daytona. When those under 35 grow up they'll want your Daytona when see more Subs than Tag Heuers around.

SubC is chunkier and may be slightly heavier.

Don't spend too much time deciding between the two. I am pretty sure you will eventually get the other one as well, it's just a matter of time.

I have both the TT Sub C and SS Daytona (white) and I enjoy wearing both of them. I would say go for the Daytona if you can get your hands on a nice one. You will always be able to buy a Sub at any dealer but despite what you might read here, the SS Daytona is still harder to find.
