Save me a trip to the AD for a 3 second adjustment????
So, had a link put into my Datejust the other week at the local AD. Just noticed this morning that a pin is sticking out, about the width of a fingernail, maybe a bit longer. I have NO watch tools. Should I try to knock this pin back in with regular household tools, or take it back to the AD? Needless to say, I'd be SUPER pissed if I damaged it somehow....
Seems like a small tap or two with a hammer would do the trick, but, I'm a chicken I guess. I know nothing about loc-tite (spelling correct??), but it seems the AD might not have used any.... Thoughts?? |

Dont know the year of your DJ..but the pin may screw in..not tapped in with a hammer...
Check to see if you see a slot at the end that is protruding..If theres a slot (for a screwdriver) then obviously Do Not tap it in..!!

Please, Tuna, no hammer!
Get an eyeglass repair kit with a tiny screwdrier, that'll do the trick.

That MAY fix it for good, or it may back out again, so keep an eye on it until you can get a proper job done on it. A proper job means taking the screw right out and applying some locktite to the thread before replacing it.

Richard -- Thanks, I gotta hunch the AD neglected to use any locktite.

Sounds like it. You may either want to get some or take back to your AD when you get a chance.

I would bet that its going to back out again. You will probably need some loctite on the threads to prevent this from happening again.

When I adjusted my bracelet..there was still enough loctite on the threads to engage properly...!!!
