Matte Triple 6 pricing?

Can't seem to find many datapoints on this so figured I'd ask. What's a realistic price range for a matte dialed 16660 (assuming the case number is period appropriate)?

The only thing I've found is an "excellent" condition example on Antiquorum for $7,500 back in March (almost no tritium patina) and a TRF post indicating matte dials go for $2-3k standalone. The latter perhaps implies $7-9k based on where I see regular dialed 16660s listed.

Feedback? Thanks.

Are we talking just the watch with no box/papers/etc.? Or are you talking a complete set?

If the latter in very solid condition is what you desire, I'd say you'd be lucky to find one for $9K. It seems with the ever growing emphasis on box, booklets and papers nowadays in the vintage world, the "crossover" models with matte dials (no metal surrounds) and sapphire crystals like the 16660 and 16800 have been rising in price when they hit the market with all the goodies.

** full disclosure. I own 4 different 16660s - two matte dials with b&p's, 1 matte dial with no b&p and 1 "spider" dial with no b&p. I can either be class'ed as knowledgeable about the 16660 marketplace, or biased...... **

Had meant loose watch. I haven't seen any full sets for sale yet...

Well there are the full sets. Unfortunately they're overseas. I guess this would put full sets at $13-14k if you believe the asking prices are reasonable (are they? -- the pieces from one of those sites seem to trickle onto ebay periodically for 15-20% discounts)

Thanks Clay. Seems to confirm my initial thinking. I assume you mean for loose watches?

If it helps here one in my sold section that was a peachy full set, it's the only one I've liked enough in last three years to buy... I sold it at RETAIlL £75oo (12250us$) ish in about 20 minutes flat and could have sold it three times over so I guess I sold it to cheap or there is a lot of love out there for nice ones.

Ps . I also got a couple of shirty emails from owners saying I'd sold it too cheap !!
