Nicknames are loathed by some and celebrated by many. But they can really help guide you thru the various models with points of reference.
Tudor Datetona sums up the historic lineage and date function, imho.

"Datetona"; I kind of like it ... but in my mind the Tudor chrono stands very much on its own, without being reminded of the Rolex sibling. Especially on the Tudor Jubilee.

I only got one, but I enjoy it a lot, and this winter I added a dial and hands, so with some help from my friendly watchmaker I can have it in two appearences.

This is how it came from Geneva:



The black dial gives a nice vintage feeling, that I like:





But the legibility of the silver (panda) is much better, and of course it is difficult not to think about the Daytona 6263... at a dramatically better price, being automatic and having a date... including an up to date size...



I miss the black dial, as I write this... Time for a change, perhaps...

I sold my Daytona and bought a Tudor Tiger chronograph BECAUSE I wanted the date function. I think the Daytona would be a much better which if it had the date function.

Three bezel options, a wide variety of dial colors, two bracelets, and leather strap w/ SEL end links and deployant clasp allow a different style for every taste and make these chronos a great value.

Hi Dan just new here. Just a question, should I trade in my rolex explorer 2 to a tudor chronograph 79260P tiger silver face? Tudor has a new old stock here in Manila for only $2,272.00?

I'd try to keep the Exp II as it's now discontinued and a second timezone is important to me.
Having said that, if the Date-ona sings to you, go for it!

Looking good everyone. Here's my contribution.... an Oysterdate.

I actually chose this instead of a WG panda dial Daytona and would again....... That lack of date on the Daytona would just bug me to death.....

I've purchased many bracelets from Strapcode and very happy with their service and products. The only reason I didn't buy this bracelet was I'd have to polish the center links so it would look appropriate for my 79270P w/ polished lugs. This is perfect for those w/out polished lugs who are looking for an oyster style bracelet.
