Daytona Not keeping time?
Lurker for years and now I need some help or advice. I have a Daytona I bought in 1998-1999 I have worn the watch everyday since i bought it new, other than hospital stay or when it was being serviced by Rolex in Dallas. I take the watch off when I go to bed and put it back on in the morning 6-7 hours later and it is now stopping and I have to reset the time rewind it. This has never happened any ideas other than have it serviced? and if so what part is worn do you think? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Yeah I know it needs a good polishing but its a daily driver it gets worn in all conditions. I think i am in need for an additional watch so i can let this one take a break.

Just have it serviced. I personally would not have it polished as I think it looks perfect as it.

That's alot of services in a very short period of time. Why so many if you don't mind me asking?

I might be a little over zealous on having it serviced. But no mechanical problems until now.
I had a regular service at about 3-4 years and then bracelet replaced a few years after that & major service at the same time, then a warranty repair on the bracelet. I am going to get another watch so I can rotate them i might be a little hard on it but I cant enjoy it if it's sitting in a safe. I never should have sold my SUB. I could have bought a nice used Rolex for what I have spent on service I probably could have avoided the bracelet replacement. |
