Is this a Good deal?

Older model submariner 2 tone blue face w serti dial. No box, no papers for 6k. Is this a fair price? Just looking for opinions, thanks guys!

Serti dial is not for everyone.
I'd say $4k is a good price for an older TT

$4k is a bit low, IMO. If the watch is in excellent condition I would think somewhere around $5k would be reasonable. Keep in mind that you'll likely have to have it serviced and that will run you between $500 and $700.

X2

Although the ones I have seen have gone for around 6K. How old is it, and what kind of condition is it in?

Not sure of year

It is in decent shape. I'm guessing old due to the fact there is no gold through the clasp, what year did they start doing that?

Also I've heard Andes places say the serti dials are not that desirable, I like it, but if I could I'd rather the black face over the blue with the diamonds.

If its blue face with diamond markers that is considered the serti dial correct??

The picture above your post illustrates the diamond placement. 5.5K is fair for a serti-dial in good shape. If it's been serviced then it's closer to 6K. Remember even if it hasn't been used the watch should still be serviced every 5-7 years and that should factor into the price.

first time uploading pics, hope it works.. the watch seems to be in decent shape, might need a good cleaning and maybe the clasp feels a little loose.. but what do you guys think? what would be this value of this watch?

Is this a good deal?

Maybe it is the picture, but that sure looks like an aftermarket dial.

Meaning, dial has no value, and if you send it to Rolex that will include a new dial charge with your service. Wouldn't pay 5 for it, mid 4s at best with that dial!

That is an aftermarket dial and NOT authentic Rolex serti dial. I would stay away. It devalues the watch significantly IMHO.

I just got it checked out by a jeweler at a shop, he told me the same thing. He said rolex never made that dial.. So does that mean this is a good indication that the whole watch is fake? what else do I look for? He wants 6k for the watch..

Well, you'll need to take clear pictures of the entire watch.
Picture of the bracelet, clasp, end links, serial, model number, remove case back and pics of inside movement.
That about sums it all.
If you can do just that many here will be able to tell you if it is real or a bluff.
Short of that take it back to the jeweler and have him/her remove the case back and see.

well considering i have no clue how to do that im out of luck!! I know the watch was as a trade at a jewelry shop, from an engagement ring, and he just traded it out for the rolex a few years ago, and my guess is maybe the shop decided to just put this aftermarket dial in it to give it a better look.

Also I noticed the time on it is fine as long as your wearing it, but if you take it off for more than a half hour its about 15 min slow..

I dont know much about Rolex's but I have a 100% authentic breitling evolution and it will keep time for about 48 hours even if im not wearing it..

Could this be a sign that its got some problems on the inside? or is that how these rolex movements work?

thanks in advance for all the help guys!

It is an aftermarket dial. Not worth it.

Please do yourself a favor and RUN. There are many genuine TT subs for sale (and the Serti varieties in particular take a big hit after initial sale). I'm confident you can find a completely genuine example in better shape for a much better price.

Regardless, best of luck with your future purchase.
