5513 circa 1970

As a newbie, advice is alway needed until my knowledge catches up to my passion for vintage.
Here is a 5513 from 1970 offered to me....says original dial and hands and recently services. Thoughts? He is asking $5500

Dial is not period correct to the casing. A 1970 5513 came with a meter first dial. What you have there is a feet first dial most probably replaced at a later date during servicing.

$5500 is kinda high unless it comes with RSC papers and bracelet.

Feet first is ok for 1970. I have seen a few as well. Who's the seller?
I've seen 5513s for less but if the seller is top-notch! Go for it!

I stand corrected....the crossover from MF to FF should be around 2.4mil to 2.5mil serial.

I agree with those that say the dial is good for 1970. It also has the correct serifs on the 3-6-9 lume plots.

I also agree that the quoted price is high for this watch, particularly without bracelet, even if serviced.

The bezel insert is a recent service replacement with luminova pearl. Not to my taste, but to each his own.

The photos do not the condition of the case too well, particularly the sides around the lug holes and crown guards. You will want to examine those more carefully to see if it is overpolished or not.

$9500!??!! That's a bit to high for that 1680 Red, you can find nicer original examples here on TRF for less than $8k

Also, regarding the dial on 5513, FF is fine for a 1970 IMHO
