Anyone here own a Jeep?

Anyone here own a Jeep? Thinking of buying a new 2 door Rubicon. Can get a pretty good deal and no hassle buying here at Bagram AB through AAFES (the PX). Always wanted one. Now hard part is deciding which color: Black, Forest Green, White, Grey Pearlcoat, or Silver.

A family member had a white Rubicon. Pretty darn nice. A moderate amount of road noise but overall the ride has been refined over the years compared to a '77 CJ7 I used to drive. I definitely liked the hard-top/hard doors on the Rubicon - kept the wind-noise to a minimum.

Good luck!

Yeah, test drove a new 2007 back in February. The newer design is supose cut down road noice 50% and adn the new soft top is much quiter as well. I like the newer versions as they are several inches wider and longer, so a little more shoulder room. Suppose to be a bit more stronger in the frame as well. Will see how the new V-6 engine is. Would really like to see a V-8 in them!!!

I am thinking of getting the Soft Top but with the full size doors.

This '05 had both hard top and soft - though I only got to drive it with the hardtop on.

A V8 might be a nice option but the 6 seemed to have plenty of torque. The '77 I had sported a 304 AMC engine - that thing was a beast. Since Chrysler owns Jeep it's a wonder they aren't offering an V8 (the company that brought us the Hemi Dart in the 60's)!

I will say that the wider/longer stance definitely improved the ride and handling over earlier models.

I do own a jeep but it doesn't really count at least for what your looking for. No experience with the Wranglers. I have had no issues and the Jeep dealer is a relative pleasant experience. The 6.1 HEMI pulls like a freight train.

Yes I own a Jeep .It is a 2005 Jeep unlimited. It is my second Jeep 1st one was a 1990 and ran it for over 200000. miles few minor problems. I would rather have a Intl Harv Scout II but they dont make them anymore . I chose Jeep because I can get parts ANYWHERE unlike a Scout where you had to kinda create your own.
I like the Jeep and the unlimited has a real smooth ride compared to the short wheelbase. But now at my age I kinda wisg the roof was easier to get down.
Good luck , I wont get another until they put a Hemi in it!
Overall I am happy with the servive and mileage 14 to 19mpg. It and the previous have been dependable and the style is timeless. You cant go wrong.

I've owned several wrangler Sports with the in-line 6 in both auto and stick and one Sahara. I just can't think of one bad thing to say about them A black Rubicon would look very cool, especially after you pick-up some aftermarket pieces from a place like quadratec http://www.quadratec.com/

anyone have a Partriot? I know its nothing special, but for my needs I am really interested in getting one. The price is right, available AWD and a lot more space than my 996.

Any thoughts?

I don't own a Jeep, but this one is sitting in my garage beside a Range Rover Sport. Cheers, Bill P.

She's an English Bull terrier, bred for bull baiting in the Victorian era, she stands 18inch at the shoulder and her weight is around 70lbs, pure house dog and as soppy as a sack.
