Just handles the Ex2, 42 for the first time.

Both colors. I really like them, I prefer the black dial as did my wife. I came close to buying one. They really put the pressure on about how hard they are to find and that the reason they brought them out for me to see was that I was wearing a steel daytona. In due time they will be sitting in cases and won't be hard to find.

Was it an AD or a Rolex Boutique?

It is surprisingly more nimble than I imagined. I usually find watches over 40mm too large, but the Exp II looked pretty good on my wrist. I prefer the white dial, just like I do on the previous generations.

I have already visited two ADs (in two different countries/continents) which both had it in stock. I however still prefer the 16570 as the size fits me better.

I agree although I love the new ExpII it is not the next SubC and will be easy to find and maybe even at a discount in about a year or less.

I'm still on the fence but if I do get one it will not be anytime soon and when I do I highly doubt it will be hard to find.

What? Thats pretty sad when a luxury watch sales person has to judge what the potential buyer is wearing before bring out the watches the buyer wants to see and try. n:

When I bought the 216570s, I went in without wearing a watch and came home with two in my backpack.

I keep thinking about going back and getting one, my better sense says to wait. My wife says go get it if I want. I know that they had 3 of them for sure, maybe more. They were keeping them in the back. So for me that makes them easy to find, in a year they will even be easier. IMO.

I thought the same. I said to the girl why don't you put them, the GV, green sub and Dayton's out in the case and sell them today. She said that they would rather collectors get them. I know this policy is coming form headquarters. I know that to get a steel daytona they want you to have purchased over $100,000 from them in the past. I have never had a problem getting a hard to find Rolex from this AD.

It isn't necessarily true just because the sales person said so. Could be he or she thought potential customers were being greased by being made to feel special.

You're now the third person including myself, that has been told that certain models are not put in the display case so that a Rolex collector can buy them. When I bought my Hulk that's what I was told. What is the story behind this Rolex policy?? It doesn't make any sense to me.

I don't think it's a Rolex policy I think it's an AD tactic to make people feel as if they are preferred customers. My AD does the same thing it does not put out SS Daytona's, SubC's, or Hulk's. However, if someone (anyone) came in and said I want to buy a SubC right now I highly doubt they would say sorry we don't have any or that they are just for collectors.

A sale is a sale they would go in the back grab it and make the sale.

Yep, not only Rolex, - the higher end brands most desirable models are being "rationed" in order to end discounting as well. As these brands open more company boutiques, discounting will be a thing of the past and customers will be selected from appearances, net worth, and past purchases. In one way it is good, as your "price protected " purchase is more valuable if you decide to sell, but to the buyer who is going to keep his purchase to the end, it is not.

I thinks it's a story policy, RUSA wouldn't care. IMO.

That's what you would think but this particular AD has to have approval from headquarters to sell a steel daytona. They want the buyer to have purchased $100,000 in the past. I don't know if they have that policy with the new EX2 but if they do it won't last for long. I'm sure Rolex with produce large amount of them.

Rolex boutique run by Mayor's. They use Mayor's employees and their computers are tied into Mayor's.

I was at an AD yesterday...they had a large amount on display, but not the hulk. They had it in the back and brought it out for me to look at. They had no problem taking any watch I wanted out of the case for me to look at and handle, but they did tell me that it wad a Rolex policy not to put the hulk in the display case (along with a few other models). They clearly didn't have any issue selling me the hulk, and as I mentioned they did bring it out for me to look at...and put a lot of pressure on me to get it sighting that it was hard to come by.

The one thing that they did say which made sense to me was that one of the reasons that the hulk is not in the display case is because they didn't want a bunch of people taking them out, putting it on their wrist, and turning the bezel constantly. Apparently the green draws a lot more attention, but not a lot of buyers.

For me to get my Explorer 2 42mm all I had to do was to stand in line for 9 months!

That's funny and it makes perfect sense as I am guilty of doing just that.

Although I know better than to play with the bezel they took it out I tried it on, looked in the mirror, walked around a bit, and then gave it back and said thank you.

I have an LV so they thought I would like the Hulk not for me the green dial is a bit too much green for me.
