went to tourneau nyc today
Well a buddy and I took the trip into NYC today and spent a few hours at tourneau's. The place is amazing they have 4 floors of exquisite time pieces. I've now fallen in love with a panerai lol. Anyway they did have a small used section and they had a Rolex explorer II (circa 2000). So when i saw it stopped over and checked it out. The watch was in great shape with a price tag around $5500 ( it also didnt have the original box or papers). My question is was this a good price? I currently have a Date just II and was looking to add another watch to the collection. To me it seemed ok but just wondering what everyone else thought.

You can get an Exp II used in very good condition for 4300-4500.
I would say 5500 is too much IMO

The price for the EXPII is not acceptable.
You can get a nice one from TRF for $4100 with boxes/papers. |

Tourneau are notorius for their high prices. Most places in New York City are not usually the best place to get a good deal either.

yea the prices are defiantly higher and i did not buy anything today because i wanted to come back on here and double check on the price......the daytona was stainless steel...I went to window shop today there was a lot of beautiful pieces there im in love with a bell and ross and a panerai im going to have to do some research. I am looking to add another rolex to my collection first.
While i did feel the prices were high i did find that for a new watch purchase they offered an 18 month payment period as well as 10% of the purchase price towards your watch. |

Run, do not away
I just bought an A serial, Black Dial, Explorer II with all the boxes, papers, do-dads and manuals for $3,700. It also had been serviced in 2008 and I have that paperwork as well. Condition, very, very good. It's a great watch for the money. Very stealthy, as I've worn it everyday for two weeks and not one comment on it Put on my Sub or GMT and you hounded to death |

Turd-NO! Always charges 1500 for a used SS Daytona they are completely insane but so are the idiots that walk in and gladly pay 15k for an SS Daytona and then act like they got a deal.

I think a 2000 should go for around 3.5K to 4 depending on condition. 5.5 is insane.

I agree with everyone else. Both are priced way to high.

I find hard to believe that anyone would want to pay NY prices for a watch that can be had from a grey dealer right here at a very good discount.

Yeah, what everyone else says. I'd value them at around $4000 with B&P.

$14000+ for used SS Daytona? Yikes. I don't think so. Maybe if it came from Paul Newmans personal collection
to Tourneau.
