I have fallen in Love- Yachtmaster!!!!
Im ready to match-up my Sub 168000 with a nice watch friend. Im a jean wearing guy and always wanted the EXP11 white faced or datejust rhodium roman dial.
iv tried the EXP on and never felt that wow factor, so i pushed that aside. i did try a datejust on and it felt and looked nice- keep in mind Im a middle class NJ floor mechanic with expensive taste. that said i don't believe in credit and owning two rolex watches will prolly be my limit. therefor im looking for something opposite in looks of my sub- well this AM i tried on the watch below and fell in love- WOW it is beautiful in looks and would go with jeans as well as a tux(imho) I dont realy know to much about the Yachtmaster so please do tell also wrist shots are more then welcome |

You'll enjoy the YM as a dressy relative to the Sub.

The YM and the Sub use the same movement so the appearance, the fact that the YM uses Platinum bezel and not ceramic, and the different case shape and clasp are the major differences. Oh and difference in water depth protection, but for the majority of owners this is a non-issue.
The YM would make a great addition.

the YM is a great choice but it is also a pain in the arse as the bezel and case show every little mark, and if you suffer from OCD and want your watches looking mint, then the YM is not a good choice....
it sure is a stunning watch... here's mine

As others have mentioned, the non-ceramic Sub and the YM are extremely similar, except for some minor cosmetics.
There is even a Sub with a YM bezel over in the LV thread: http://www.rolexforums.com/showpost....&postcount=329 Of course, if you like the size, date, bezel and bracelet of the Sub, and want the glitter of the YM, it may be the right watch for you. Personally, I thought the YM would be the "dressiest" watch I needed, but I have found it is far too sporty for many occasions. For many situations where I would have used it I often end up taking the TT Sub instead, because it feels more robust. Instead of being used for dressier occasions it has ended up in the everyday rotation, and to be honest, not chosen very often. I am wearing it today though. |

That couldn't be more true. I should also add that in between the three you showed it is my favorite. I hope you'll buy it and enjoy it a lot!

There is actually a male and female version of it, but the only difference is the number of links in the bracelet.
In my opinion, you'd have to have an absolutely tiny wrist to not get the 40mm. Here's one of Charlie Sheen wearing a 35mm, looks silly. (Again, in my opinion.) |

Love the YM. And it seems less common - which is more appealing to me.

Great looking watch but the clasp is a bit of a letdown. Some owners have swapped it out for a Daytona or GMT II C clasp. If you are thinking of buying new, perhaps wait for next year's Basel to see if Rolex upgrade the clasp.
