116618LB Gold Submariner..
Here goes again!!
Would you guys consider £12,950.00 a good price for a 1 to 2 year old 116618LB? Great condition, full box/papers etc... Thanks!

Dino , I have a good memory and I remember you posting that one of the main reasons why you sold your GMT 2 was because of the PCL and all the scratches, well isn't it true that with gold the situation will be worst ? Otherwise yes the price is fine

If you have a LV-C already, I surely wouldn't get an all-gold Sub. It sounds redundant, but maybe it's just me. Instead, how about a DD II, a gold Daytona, or a YG GMT IIC?

Go for it- being redundant is OK, but get ready for scratches to show out of the blue!!!!!!

Well we're talking about the current offer. Dino, no way I would sell the LV, bad move. Ask yourself if you really need that Gold Sub,plus I'm sure you'll miss your LV.

Tell me about it mate, checked that out about 15 mins ago and is pushing me closer to the deal It would unfortunatly mean narrowing my higher end watches down to just one in the collection though.. I think for and 18k piece its worth it..

I'd still keep the LVC. The gold is great but I'd only go for it you keep the Green?

Parting with a treasured LVC (which I believe it is to you), may sound good to go for gold. But the empty space it'll leave behind may be a void you'll regret in the long run. The gold sub is a stunning piece, but can it become the only watch!?!?!

If you look away for just a second, you'll notice a new scratch on a gold watch. Oh and do not drive with your watch hand out the window (not usually a problem in the UK) or the micro scratches will eat your gold watch.
Having said that... there's nothing so fine as gold. I think I understand what they mean by 'gold fever' now. |

Finally someone said it! With the green dial of course!
I'll also agree with another fellow above who talked about the Day-Date (or Day-Date II), I think these are the Rolexes that look very nice in gold! And to answer your question, I guess it's a good price. I'm not an expert in Subs but if I compare it to what I know about Day-Dates and GMT's in gold I'd say it's a pretty good deal.

It's an exciting prospect, so I would sleep on it for a few days and then see if I felt the same. Maybe ask some owners/ex-owners for their opinions?

Somehow I don't think I would want to make a solid gold watch my everyday watch.
Good luck with your decision Dino.

Gold is king, can't go wrong.
Parting from your lvc is not such a big deal. Lvc's will be still available for the next what, 20 years or so?

Yes, it's an excellent price. In fact, if you don't go for it, may I please have the lead? I think it's an utter steal.

white gold yes, without a shadow of doubt but yellow gold worth considering if you'd wear it as much as your Green LV otherwise it could be an expensive trinket plus, i'm a BIG bloke but i'd be weary of wearing any large & pricey gold item that's a beacon of quick n' easy cash to undesirables.

Good price but wouldn't go for the blue dial version.
