Stopped by Torneau in King of Prussia today
I had to go to King of Prussia PA for a wedding so we stopped by the mall and I saw a Torneau. Well I've read good and bad reviews about Torneau on here but was very pleased when I went in there today. The sales staff was very kind even though I told them I just purchased a new Rolex and wasn't buying. Their inventory was great. Almost every watch in the line. I tried on a YMII for the first time. It was a great watch but I'm not spending $44k on a Rolex. I also tried on a WG Sub several Pams and a few omegas. The PO chrono really sang to me and will probably be my next watch but I thought the $9k price tag was steep but I'm sure I could get a good price on a used one. I didnt talk discounts but just wanted to say how polite the staff was and how my fiancé and I were really treated great. My fiancé fell in love with DJ 31 with chocolate dial and ever rose gold. I'm going to get it for her as a wedding present. She is not a huge watch person but talked about the watch the whole way home. The bezel with only a few diamonds is beautiful. Just wanted to share.

Glad to hear you had a good time. I have been to a couple Tourneau's and I have been treated pretty nice.

Thanks for sharing.
As usual it only goes to show, once again, that a retail business is only as good as the sales staff, some are better than others but they are never all the same just because of their name. |

Nice to hear you had a good time! Always nice to hear a lady talk about a watch! My mom says, Yeah, it's just a watch. I'm like, ugh.

I was very surprised. I even said to my fiancé as we walked in this place isn't known for the best service. I was totally wrong. The salesman was also very knowledgable about all the brands they carried.

Sorry for being a stick in the mud, but
fiancé = masculine, the man who is to be married fiancée = feminine, the woman who is to be married I'm all for equal opportunity marriages (for all gender combinations), so it is possible for a man to have a fiancé, and a woman could have a fiancée. But I don't think that is what you mean in your posts. |

It's nice to hear that the King of Prussia store has a knowledgeable salesman. I've been there a handful of times, and I've always received lackluster service.

Gunter, what time were you there? I was there about 1:30 with my son. I love browsing at Tourneau. Before that I was down the hall at the Apple store exchanging my black iPhone 4S for a white 4S. I live about 15 minutes from the King of Prussia mall, so I am there frequently.

As for the fiancé thing if you look up fiancé it does mean a man but also says any person engaged to be married. If you must follow all the French rules then you are correct but it is perfectly acceptable to use fiancé for both males and females. The French always have to complicate everything. Lol |

I went to the Torneau in Copley place in Boston Saturday night. I knew their reputation as having horrible customer service, but I must say I was truly impressed with Bennie the sales rep that helped me out. I stopped in to look at some Panerais and told him that I was not looking to buy until income tax return time next year. He still went through everything with me, was EXTREAMLY friendly and I will defiantly consider going back and buying from him when the time comes. I was just shocked to have such a good experience when all I have heard were horror stories.

I go to KoP every 2 months to satisfy my addiction. Most times I find the staff approachable and friendly. When they aren't, it's typically been because the store is swamped. The prices leave much to be desired. I've seen pre-owned going for the same price as NIB on TRF.

Nah, that wasn't me. I was with my 8 year old son. He was playing in the cars just outside Tourneau. They had a nice selection of Panerai. KoP must be a nice hike from Cape May. Just over 2 hours?

Its about 1.5 hours but then again it was the weekend with no traffic and I drive pretty fast. We stayed overnight at the Radission and it was very nice. We did have a suite and the beds come with sleep number beds which are amazing. We stopped at the sleep number store at the mall and I think we are going to get one. I guess the next Rolex purchase might get pused back a few months but since I spend 6-8 hours a day asleep its probably a better purchase.

Glad you had a good experience there at KOP! I was not as lucky! I am about an hour and a half from there and go often! Gtg in the works!

Sorry to hear that. If you go back ask for Aaron. He was an older gentleman but very kind and knowledgable. That means a lot to me since I'm only 27 and most places don't consider me a realistic sale. I'm not sure I would buy from there because my AD is amazing and beats the prices on here but a welcome response from an AD was great. I even told Aaron that I get great discounts but he gave me his card and said to call before I purchase again and I will. I don't know if they can match what I will pay but I'll give them a chance.
