Are your watches "burglar proof"?
Where do you guys keep your OTHER watches when wearing one?
By other I mean, other Rolexes or valuable watches that go into the thousands? And please, I don't want to know specific locations -- just saying SAFE or hidden in the house is good enough. Since I do not have insurance for any of them, I have to resort to a protection scheme. My beaters are kept in a cigar box right on my dressing table. The Rolex I wear in rotation lets say for a week, if I feel like wearing a beater, goes into a sock, well hidden inside my closet. THe rest are stored in a safe. When I feel like wearing a different Rolex, I take the one out of a sock and put it into the safe. Take the one from the safe adn start wearing it for a week or two and then it goes in a sock inside my closet and the beaters get some wrist time. So what I have done is put beaters in plain sight, relaively speaking so burglars if the ever come, will take off with beaters and not snoop around too much. As far as the safe, they will need to bring some steel cable, a forklift and dynamite to blow its door...IF they can find it first!!! So what is your protection scheme for your Rolexes? Do you take some care to hide them? Or just leave them in plain sight, unworried? thanks |

No scheme, they...it (DJ, which is the only 1 with real value) is out in the open for the taking, but when I'm on vacation I hide it somewhere.

All are insured for replacement value and rotated into a bank safe. Dog and guns add secondary layer of protection.

Doesn't anyone on here have a home alarm system anymore in my short time here I ahve read at least a hlf dozen "break in" posts, etc...
My safe is the house...ADT Home protection with tons of motion detectors and on my sliding glass doors I have heavy duty security film that will not allow the window to be broken even with a crowbar, bat or rock. |

I fail to understand why you would not insure them. Why risk a lot for a little. I appreciate that money is tight these days but you have expensive items. Insurance covers a lot more than burglary.

I keep my watches inside a fire breathing dragon.
In fact, I don't own any watches. Why do we close these threads? Must be the potential for members to post weapon pics or lurkers to seek out easy pickings from an absent minded member. IBTL.
