The LONG and the SHORT of it all...
LONG clasp, SHORT clasp.....both very comfy.
Which one do you prefer?

Never tried on a long one... hmm, will have to visit an AD and see.
But I did move a link from the 6 side to the 12 side today, and OMG it's like a new watch. So 7 on 12 side, 5 on other (excluding the 4 end links). So the long and short may be having it sized properly!

Both look great JJ.
I was remembering your informed comments on the need for the correct wrist size for the SD, well I went to the AD yesterday and with great relief it fitted perfectly, looks like I will only have to move the micro adjuster one notch. It felt fantastic having that puppy on my wrist and I am reliably informed by my vlient that it won't be far off till it is on permenantly! Yippe! My regards to you and your family |

The SD comes with this original arrangement of 5 full links on the '6' side....and the rest of the '12' side. What's your arrangement like?

You know JJ, I have not got it yet, it should be coming sometime this month God willing. It was on display so I guess it was the standard set up?? Funny, I heard all the comments about it being heavy but it seemed perfect for me, infact the balance on my wrist was spot on! Can't wait to get it and of course will post pic's when I do!

To me the long clasp is more appealing cosmetically but due to the extension link which I find hard to open makes it more complicated to adjust but once adjusted I would prefer the long clasp

Damn! JJ! I honestly never knew that Rolex made a "short" version of the Fliplock clasp! Wow, that is great info! This link has immediately gone to my "Favourites's List" Anyway, now having seen it, I prefer the LONG clasp

the "long" version is known as the oyster fliplock ....while the "short" one is simply oysterlock.....
when i first bought my exp 2.....the oysterlock clasp looked just right and i thought that the fliplock was way toooooooo big...........however, after having my lv, i began to think the oysterlock was way tooooooooo small............haha.........it's about getting used to the look....

The LONG clasp has the diver's extension links....whereas the SHORT clasp has no extensions. JJ

I also have the 5+8 arrangement, but take care to keep the diver's extention links clean because of the Sub's clasp.

You had me going on this one......
This morning I was wearing the Sub for a few minute, the EXP for a few, the Sub, the EXP, the Sub..... The EXP II short clasp wins out for comfort by a slim margin. The long, with the extra thickness of the extension, giving it slightly more bulk, is a hair less comfortable.... but, Hey, after a couple of minutes.....didn't notice much... |

I have a 6.5 wrist and was wondering if it is possible to move a link from the 12 to the 6 side? My clasps are all towards the pinky side of my wrist due to the amount of fixed links on the 12 side. All the removed links are from the 6 side. |

Remember this....NEVER have an EQUAL amount of links on either side - always have MORE links on the '12' side....otherwise you'll find the clasp slipping to one side and not centralised. JJ
