This watch is only 36mm?

http://rolex.watchprosite.com/show-f...ti-640606/s-0/

The Case

It has all the usual features of the early Cosmograph: 36mm round Oyster case with 6mm twinlock winding crown, pump pushers ref. 24-p3 and tropic 21 dome plexi."

Different times I guess account for different "popular" sizes. Sure is a beautiful piece, well defined and well porportioned, size notwithstanding.

Oh I agree but in "my mind" it was always 40mm. Not sure why...guess because I've only ever held one "in my mind"

I tried one of these on a few weeks ago at a really good shop in northern England. It did wear small, even compared to the datejust I had on that day.

I know this is the Holy Grail for some but really couldn't see what the fuss was about. Each to his own I guess

36mm Chrono would be small for my wrist.
I Really need to get out more and stop looking at Macro Photos!!!
Nowhere to really view this one locally though!

I always thought the vintage Daytona was 39 mm. Indeed, I've tried a few on and would swear they were 38/39 mm.

The case measures 36mm indeed, But if you measure the bezel and crown it's 39,5mm.
44mm lug to lug measured horizontal and 19mm between the lugs.

You're devastated because your wife/mother/father dies. Not because a watch is "Only 36mm"

It's the Ł50,000 price tag that irks me.

I think it's also very close to 37mm exc crown.

Yes, Mickey is upset. Very upset. In fact, he is not going to buy one now...
Bad for Mickey but good for his 2 kids college fund.

I just wish it was 39/40mm as I thought it was. Now if I win the lottery I can't buy one. It was "joke" said for effect. This is a watch forum.

I appreciate everyone telling me to be devastated if my family dies though

I am often disappointment at first glance of these vintage Daytonas. However, when on the wrist the look and feel amazing. So...

I get very devastated every time when my numbers don't come up on the lottery draw.
