Looking to buy my first rolex
I am going to buy my first rolex soon and I'm trying to decide between a nice preowed sub 16610 or a sea dweller 16600. I don't dive and was wondering if people that don't go diving still buy sea dwellers just to wear everyday? Which watch would you recommend and why? Thanks in advance

Many buy for own personal reasons.
Me? I sometimes buy with the "you never know" notion that I might go diving one day. I have many items with "you never know" syndrome. |

Welcome to TRF
You can not go wrong with either one and you can dive with both if the day comes... Go for what you like as for me I like the sub better

ask yourself; do you like the extra weight and case thickness of the SD ? Do you like the cyclopes on the sub or the clean face of the SD?
Those should be easy to determine and go from there |

I agree, the DSSD will be tougher to wear under a dress shirt and adds extra weight. If you really like the clean face with no bubble, you could always consider a no date sub 14060. If you have to have the date, but still want no cyclops, then the DSSD may be your watch. Its definitely personal preference at the end of the day. They are both great watches!

Well I like the big look of the sea dweller but the sub seems more comfortable to wear. To all the people that have sea dwellers, does it get uncomfortable after wearing it for a while? I am going to be wearing this watch all the time and want something comfortable that isn't going to be sticking out and hitting everything. I also have big wrists so I like the looks of the dweller but the sub is more comfortable so I can't decide

SD is heavier and bigger. Try on both and decide for yourself.

I have owned many of both of those models. For me they each wear substantially different. You really need to try them in person. Dont be fooled, they may look similar but feel quite different (at least to me).

the previous posts are spot on....clean face and heavier weight of the SD or the sub with the cyclops.....if you wear long sleeved shirts/suits, you might notice the SD sticking out a bit more when u wear (this is more often the case for DSSD) but consider it before purchase and GL HF!

I don't dive and I have a Sub. I don't race and yet I have a Daytona. Purely a matter of preference, and in this case it depends on yours. If possible compare them both in person. Unfortunately that may be a bit difficult as both the sub 16610 and the sea dweller 16600 are discontinued. As stated the biggest difference will be the heavier weight and lack of a cyclops on the Sea Dweller.
