Submariner 14060M
Trying to decide if I want a newer version or the Non COSC version. Which do you prefer the two line non or the four line COSC version. Does one hold it's value more than the other?

Are you looking to buy NEW, or USED?
Not sure about value, but there are two (2) versions of the 2-Liner. The 14060, and the 14060M, with the updated movement. Both are non-COSC, but you get more value by buying it that way, as it's the same movement, not officially COSC "tested", but can easily run within those COSC specs. If you want a new 14060M, you'll have to get the 4-Liner version, as I did. Only difference being the 4 lines of text and the Rehaut engraving. I wanted new, so I had to go with 4-Liner, and I'm happy, 2 Liner looks bit more simple, but we are only talking two small lines of text on the face of the watch :). Hope that helps. |

I've ordered the 14060M and I'm happy with that decision and cannot over-state how happy I'll be when it finally arrives.

I'm shopping for a 14060M myself and although I like the look of the 2-liner best, I don't know if I have the patience to wait however long it takes to find the right one. Last week I looked at a new one at my dealer and the 4-liner still looked sooo good that I think i may just pop for a brand new... I don't really think a mistake can be made here - it's all good.

I prefer the 4 line. I own both a 2 line and a 4 line. It looks more complete to me.
You can't go wrong either way! |

Possibly if they discontinue the model the 4 lines may be more valuable in a couple of decades..

Both look great, but a new 4-liner would (and did) get my vote...

Keep it simple amigo... 2 line
And get an undersize 18mm Nato for it - for those dark indecisive days of awe without comprehension. |

Thanks everyone! I was curious about what others like. I have only seen a new one at the local AD. I have not had the opportunity to see a preowned one yet. In Vermont not too many preowned Submariners or Rolexes out there. I went to a local jeweler who use to sell preowned and they told me they can't compete with eBay. They didn't have any Rolexes. Another preowned only had a couple of datejusts and a daytona. The daytona is from the 90's and it was $27000. It was beautiful! I don't know enough about them but it seemed overpriced.
The local AD only had one that was on layaway for someone that they let me see. They don't know when they will have one back in. They didn't have much inventory I guess we would be considered a small market. I might make a trip to Montreal. |

I have the 4 liner but I think both look fantastic. Sometimes I second guess myself and wonder if i should have chosen the two liner but then i would probably wonder if I should have picked the 4 liner. I try not to worry about it and enjoy what I have. Again, both are beautiful in their design, quality, and function. Pick the one that your gut feeling drives you to, as I did, and you'll be happy.

No matter your choice, there are a lot of good pieces in the TRF listings by trusted sellers. And you save that pesky 7% sales tax. Even with shipping costs you'll save on the bottom line.
