GMT Dial question
Hello all. Today I saw a vintage GMT Master. It was a TT on jubilee in decent shape. I was interested but saw something that didn't look right. It had a black niple dial, but instead of reading GMT MASTER, it read G.M.T. MASTER. I have never seen a vintage one like this either in person or pictures. Asking price was cheap too. I want to give him benefit of the doubt on this. I have already decided to pass, real or not, as I found a Sub I am going to persue. I was just wondering if this dial does exist on older GMTs.

Thanks for replies. Looks like I'll be joining the Sub Club later this week. I just felt for the gentleman who owned it. I truly think he has no clue it's not real. I wouldn't dare say anything. He wasn't actively trying to sell it either.

Good eye. It's amazing the subtle differences that most people wouldn't notice due to the "excitement" of purchasing a Rolex. I guess that's how the counterfeiters get away with it.
