SS Daytona w/ Custom Dial?? Warranty?

Hey TRF ..

I got a SubC last year and am now on the hunt for a Daytona. I really want the black and white racing dial on the Daytona but it is not available in the SS version. While I can save for 5-6 years and get the WG version (dont like TT) thats a long time and serious investment in a watch.

So on to my question, if I get the SS in either color, would having someone put the Racing Dial on the watch void the warranty? Would Rolex even service the watch anymore??

I do not want to spend over 13K and have a watch that Rolex will not even service as an outcome...

There is a dial for sale on the site from a trusted seller..
If you want that dial you should pick it up because they very hard to find.

I think Rolex will give you a hard time if you send it in for a service..you can try and find a good watchmaker to service it though..

There are others here on the forum who have taken this route

If you get the watch Pre-owned from a trusted TRF seller, and the Dial then you could have it serviced by some of the good watchmakers here.

No warranty issue since it would be Pre-owned. RSC wouldn't want to service the modified piece but a good watchmaker with a Rolex parts account can do almost everything you should ever need...

Just be sure to save the original dial. If things were ever fouled up beyond a local or TRF watchmaker's ability, you could have the original dial put back in + then RSC would work on it. Hope that helps
