Rolex Daytona white gold slate dial on Ebay

Hi all,

I'm a new member of this forum and I appreciate all the good information here. I was recently in Hong Kong and almost pulled the trigger on one of my favorite Rolexes... the Daytona white gold with slate dial... but I wanted to do some more research on where to purchase a Rolex for the best price while at the same time feeling certain that it is the real thing.

There are a lot of warnings about buying a Rolex online, and I can see why. I recently came across a listing on ebay for the white gold Daytona, with slate dial. I won't buy a Rolex on ebay from this seller, as he doesn't have a track record for selling Rolexes, but if anyone here is familiar with this listing, and could comment on it, I would be interested to hear people's opinions. Is this a common model to replicate? Does this listing seem suspicious to anyone else... if only because of the relative scarcity of info in the description?

Here is a link to the listing:

Thanks. Happy Holidays.

He has never sold anything on eBay yet his feedback has been through several small purchases of items costing 99 cents.
Suspicious in my opinion, or maybe he wanted to build his feedback either way he is a zero feedback seller !!!!

Very suspicious feedback history, IMO most people who can afford watches of this caliber don't waste their time buying 99 cent items off Ebay. additionally in picture # 2 the back gound looks very tropical not what you would expect from a seller in Brooklyn. My first suggestion would be stay away from any seller with zero selling feedback, 2nd if you can't let it go send him an e-mil claiming that you also live in Brooklyn and if you win the watch you would like to meet and have it authenticated see if he answers.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree... it all seems too suspicious. Sometimes you just need someone to verify what you already know. I think I was just in denial, ha.

I agree that I would stay away, but, if you want to confirm, you could ask him to take a picture of the watch with a sign showing his user name (netoner1) in the background. That would, at least, show that the watch in the pictures is in his possession.

For the life of me, I cannot understand how someone would risk this kind of money on someone who has such a shady feedback history. Would I bid on a 12 THOUSAND dollar watch with someone who has only sold Ipad styluses? I think not.
