Icon5 Explorer Rail Dial

Can someone enlighten me about the rail dial? What's the difference between a rail and non-rail? A pic of rail and non-rail would be helpful.
Thanks
John

Rail dial means that the C in Chronometer and the C in Certified are aligned:

Be that as it may, the man asked what a rail dial was. Not your opinions about the level of silliness in vintage watch collecting.

The differences in the evolution of a Rolex model are so subtle that it requires attention to detail like this.

Personally, I love learning all these little details.

I believe it's because you can run a "rail" straight up and down between the 4 words.

Exactly. Wonder if it's as silly as looking for a particular Letter in the serial number.

I understand...I guess I am just glad my WIS'ness hasn't progressed that much!

With knowledge comes wanting more watches and I can't afford any more knowledge!!!

If this is the definition of a rail dial what do you call the dial that has all the minute markers connected by circle running around the outside of the dial making it look like a circular railroad track.?
