Gee, I'm not sure. Let me think a minute....think...think...think...well, if it was good enough for James Bond...aka Sean Connery...I love it!
Looks great. Wear in good health.

A vintage watch is classy enough to motivate a deviation from the no-sports-watch-with-suit rule.

I think NATO strap is too casual for a suit. Would be fine on an Oyster band.

Lovely watch. To your original question: not really. NATO/ZULU strap on a diver is technically not suit-wear, but who cares? :-)

Do subs look good on lizard or croco? I think the threading on the Pam would look too casual for a suit. IMHO of course.
To the op that 5513 is very handsome with marching pearl to boot! |

A nice leather band would look more "dressy"....but that looks fine too.

I've had dinner with several businessmen wearing G-shock type watches with a suit or tie and slacks. That watch looks MUCH better IMHO. (I realize that both are not really accepted, but the Rolex is better)

I think it looks great and in all honesty if you aren't trying to show your watch most shirt sleeves and jackets cover your watch the majority of the time, and with today's fashion a little fun under the shirt cuff is stylish.
Also, if you were in a business meeting the only person who would really notice would be a fellow WIS and therefore they would be drooling....

Actually, and while it may not be ideal with a suit, IMO there aren't any NATOs that look as good as this Khakhi one with this watch... And it is so comfortable...

Think looks great on a suit though not sure about the brown NATO strap going with the blue stripes, maybe a black NATO will look even better.

I like the watch, I'd prefer an oyster bracelet.

to the OP, I think your watch is a beauty and certainly has enough cache to wear with a suit. I picked up my first Rolex this week and its also a meters first 5513 (also a 68 im told).
I wear a suit everyday and my 5513 will be my daily wearer. As yours looks in a lot better shape than mine you should know that at least 1 other person is wearing an old 5513 with a suit!!!!! Its currently on a nato as I want to preserve the original bracelet - Im on the look out for a stylist leather nato strap for it - but I think the watch is versatile enough for suit wear in a solid block colour (admiralty grey, black, khaki, blue). There are some very nice and dressy leather nato's out there from what I can see. wear yours in good health and mine says hi! |

Nice--both of the above 5513s are superb. My Vintage 5513 is inbound (SN 1.6M; II/1967)--but I also plan to set aside the periodic correct bracelet and wear it in my core rotation on a dark chocolate leather NATO/ZULU. :))
