Price check help.
Hello all, I am looking into buying my first Rolex so I need some help on pricing.
The seller listed for $6,000 but is willing to take $5600 cash. Datejust 116234 S.S/ WG, Jubuliee Diamond Dial, D Serial Comes with papers. Or the 2nd option is the same watch for $4,000. The only difference is, it does not come with papers and the dial is a white jubilee instead of black. Any advice or suggestions would on how much I should offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Joe |

papers are a big deal as is the diamonds on the dial. and black is more desireable than white, either way email me any time. maybe others on the forum can give you some input.

Fair value for original box and papers are +$400 to $500. Original Rolex diamond dial is worth $500-$1000 by itself depending on age plus another $125-$150 to get some one to change the dial. If you planning to resell to the open market then papers and box help ease the sale. If it is the black face diamond dial you desire most then asks the seller to drop the price another $100-$200 and you will be in line with a closer fair value. If his price already includes overnight shipping and insurance then the price he is offering is at fair value. Hope this helps.

I think it is an okay deal but slightly on the high side!
