Rolex factory movement service?
Hi,
Can anyone help with below service confirmation from RSC - Texas? I sent in for a checkup since it was loosing by time more than 3- 4 minutes in a month. And below is what they sent me for a service confirmation. "Factory Movt Service-pres prf" Does anyone have an idea what that is? and will it correct the loosing time issue? And how much this type of service would normally cost? Thank you! |

3-4 minutes a month is 6-8 seconds a day. COSC is -4 to +6.
As for a RSC service $650.00

Looks like a movement service and pressure check. Normal check up.

Factory service will definitely restore your watch to COSC spec timekeeping.

Losing 3 to 4 minutes a month isn't really that bad...remember it's a mechanical watch not quartz. Wait till Padi chimes in!!!

If you've had the watch for less than say seven years, go with a simple regulation, but I'm sure the RSC won't do just a regulation, so they'll have to send it back to you.
If you've had it for more than seven years or if it's been over five years since it was serviced, a full service would be a good thing, although there are many here who believe that you shouldn't fix what's not broken. So the ball is in your court. If you think it needs a full service go for it. If you don't want to pay that expense, then get it back and have a reputable watchmaker or technician regulate it for you.
