Big difference?
Just bought my 14060M Sub non date last month (nice watch). Now after only one month I getting obsessed with a stainless Yachtmaster. Is there a big difference in these two pieces. I really like the look of the white face and platinum bezel.......

I'd say as pretty much as different as two Rolex can get.
Maybe you mean Silver dial? |

I would say there are a number of differences in regards to how these two watches look. Case, Dial, Bezel, and Bracelet.

Compare pics online between the two and/or go to dealer and look at the two side by side.

Best if you go to an AD with one in stock so you see it and try it on.

In my opinion the Yacht-Master does not wear as well as the Submariner models. If you are going to wear the watch as a daily beater then stick to the Sub .
Yacht-Masters are notorious for loosing the satin finish on the bezel early on and will also easily show up small knocks and scuffs on the polished areas on the case and bracelet as well as the raised numbers on the bezel .After a while they can loose the lustre you originally see when first worn . Hope this helps. WatchCollector |

The Subs will have either a ceramic or an aluminum bezel insert.
The YM will have a platinum bezel and insert, to the best of my knowledge. The Sub will be waterproof to 300m, the YM to 100m. The Sub will have a unidirectional bezel, where as the YM has a bi-directional bezel. The bracelet for the YM has polished center links, while the Sub does not. The YM still has the old style bracelet and clasp, where as the newer Subs will have the updated bracelet and clasp. The YM bracelet will have no extension link.

The shape of the case on the YM is different as well.

Ps..love the way the red pops on the YM! It would be a great second watch along with the Sub IMHO.

It will be a great combination as the dial color is so different.

If you don't wear it daily it's the perfect compliment to your 14060M
As others have said, and from what I have read the YM shows wear very easily |

There really is little to compare in my opinion.I don`t get the Yachtmaster at all.
Having said that I find the YM dial very attractive but the bezel kills it for me. |

As long as you like it, it really doesn't matter what others think. YM is a great addition to any Rolex collection and the platinum dial is a plus

I think the YM compliments a Sub (or GMT) perfectly. The platinum dial and bezel gives it a unique look while keeping that classic Rolex sports model look!
It's often referred to a dressed up, refined Submariner, without the depth rating. The durable Sub makes for a perfect daily wearer, then mixing the refined YachtMaster for special events, going out and weekends. Good luck!! |
