According to my dealer, there is a price increase coming in April!!! He said it would be 10% to 15% depending on the model.

Seriously, I heard that Rolex is starting to have a conscience and plans to lower all current prices by 15%. I also heard that our trusted sellers will be doing the same.
Hey, time to change the pace, tone, direction of a topic that has been beaten to death. |

I bought a new 2012 Sub C from a trusted online AD for $7200 today. It has all the plastics and stickers intact.

My feelings exactly!!!!
I made a similar comment about how this kind of thread is redundant and pointless... Well the mods felt different, gave me a tongue lashing... Geez.. So it's okay for anyone else to comment on it? I hope the mods don't lash at you for not adding value and enjoyment to others who might enjoy this topic...
Can we all agree that price increase is certain as taxes and death? And just buy the darn watch? It's not going down that is for sure! So if your waiting..good luck ! |

I don't know if price increases are certain, but I'm sure that dealers will always tell you a price increase is coming to pressure you into buying!

I'm glad I don't live in Chicago! That gives me two more months of my indecisive behavior to determine if I want to buy a watch by April when the prices go up here in Texas. That also gives me time to start 10 or 12 threads to get everyone's opinion on what I should do. Oh, the horror of it all!

"Online AD"? Dont think that's possible. You could find an AD online and call them, but I think Rolex would get pretty upset if they advertised online. Was it BNIB or was it LNIB (ie, another interim owner or a return)?

2 price increases this year, 10% in Feb. and 7.5% in October, need to keep up with the other manufacturers...Pure speculation of course

I'm very confused. Will the prices increase or decrease? We are in 2012 now, and I still see the Seadwellers, Aluminium bezel Subs, Coke bezel gmts on wrists, but I never see any ceramic bezel Rolex on any wrist, which shows that Rolex is very irrational with price increase ideas, therefore the demand is decreasing!!!!! If they keep increasing prices like this, in the future, a brand new SS Sub will be around 15-20K and TT one will be over 20K...., which means that very small number of people will own those stainless steel sh.t boxes. Which means that lots of members here wont be able to buy, and they won't be members anymore as it is pointless to discuss about something and rave on when you can't own it... |

Demand may very well be decreasing in some parts of the world, I would expect it to, but as long as the worldwide average demand is increasing I can't see any incentive for Rolex to change their marketing strategy. Also, I think Rolex cares absolutely zero about what people on forums discuss or don't discuss. |

Thanks for all the input on this subject guys….. and for those of you that feel this is "overdone" I extend my apologies to you for your wasted time at reading this thread....
At any rate I called the 2 diff AD today and they tell me they are out of stock on the SS Sub C..... I’m now on a "List" for when they come in..... I remember looking for this watch in 06 and think they were about 5500+- from the AD.. so I guess the trend is about 7% increase/yr.... Moreover it is my hope that i am able to negotiate a 10% savings when i go for it to bring it to $7200… I read another member posted he did the same thing from an AD in my area. Guess we shall see.... |
