Breitling Superocean Heritage

I was at my friendly Rolex AD and looked at his other cases and ran across the new 2007 Breitling Superocean Heritage 46mm with rubber strap ..... It is really really nice.

Here a link to the website. Look under heading "model", "new 07"

It is nice but I can't help but see the Rolex influence in the watch. I have owned Breitlings before but I keep coming back to Rolex. I owned a Super Ocean and a Colt. I always kicked myself saying for a thousand more it could have been a Rolex.

Nice watches, I own a skagen with a titanium mesh bracelet and I must say it is VERY comfy...

Yea thats true, but I also see a lot of Blancpain in every Rolex. In fact I think the Breitling looks more like a blancpain then a rolex. Either way rolex was not the first.

Also this one must be a knock off as well:

Watch companies have always "borrowed" styling cues from others. This is a mixed blessing. The prospective buyer will think, "This looks like a [Rolex, Blancpain, Omega, Etc.]" and buy it because it's priced lower. Or, he'll buy the [Rolex, Blancpain, Omega, Etc.] instead.

One life lesson I've learned is not to go with something that reminds you of something else. Go with the something else. (If you can't afford that something else, get something that you like that won't remind you of it.)

Ok I did some reading, apparently the breitling 17 caliber is a modified 2824-2. Is the "modified" movement really worth the extra $2000 of an "unmodified" Tissot compared to a Breitling.
