Are there chocolate GMTs?

Recently my 1675 seems to be changing to a dark brown. I have heard of chocolate subs before but not GMTs. I can't seem to photograph it yet but I'll keep working on it. I'm sure it will be a slow process. I like it.

You should still take a picture, it would be cool to see the progression from how it looks today until it turns brown. I for one have never heard about this happening on a 1675, however, I'm still learning something new everyday!

I have seen one GMT recently, if my memory serves correctly, of a 1675 that was for sale where the seller claimed that the dial was turning brown. The picture was taken at an angle outside in the sunlight. It was actually a great picture and the dial looked amazing. Now whether this was a matter of the right elements or not I do not know as I am not a photographer, but I cannot imagine why this couldn't happen.

My best pic so far. It's not easy to tell. I'll experiment outside this weekend.

Ken has a DRSD that has a chocolate dial (much browner) which is what I was thinking of. Maybe he'll chime in. It's a beautiful watch.

Very interesting! Does anyone know how collectible these sun turned GMT's are?

I like the description given by a vintage collector along the lines that when you are selling them they are damaged and faulty when you are buying them they are unique and desirable

I hear you, funny thing is that also bodes true in the modern world. There is someone out there always trying to pull a fast one on someone. I will definitely consider your words as I dabble into vintage

We call those tropical.

Actually, tropical dials aren't really "splotchy" but do come in all sorts of crazy patterns: http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/2011/7/...l-ever-se.html

I believe Jacek had a very nice MK1 or MK2 with a superb brown dial with B&P for sale here.

I guess that's the best area in the photo. The entire dial is a dark dark brown and it's hard to photograph.
