Coffee with Jed
Hi folks
I was lucky enough to catch up with Jed (Jedley1) for a coffee near to the Burlington Arcade in London earlier today. Jed had just arrived after a flight from Oz and was actually looking remarkably fresh after his marathon journey As many of you will know, Jed is an absolute guru when it comes to all things Rolex and he was kind enough to share some of his encyclopaedic knowledge with me. I also had a chance to try on some of the grails he was carrying with him, so with Jed's permission, I thought I would share them with you too Apologies for the poor quality i-phone photos which don't do these grails any justice at all..... but all I had with me to capture the moment.... Enjoy The first was a Comex Sub which had an almost silver bezel and was on a creme leather/suede strap which I thought set it off brilliantly. Second up was a perfect Double Red Sea Dweller Third was a gorgeous milisub Last, but by no means least, was a rare Explorer Sub with the 3,6,9 numbering.... Jed also happened to be wearing a creme dial Paul Newman Daytona just to round things off........ Didn't get a photo - sorry but it was stunning.... Needless to say...... we parted with me feeling unworthy and wishing my watch fund had a few more noughts on the end. |

DRSD, Comex, and Milsub... that's like the trifecta of the Submariner. Speechless... and in awe. Great collection!

Thanks guys and yes very lucky to be able to see and try such watches on......especially in the company of such an expert.
Just sorry I wasn't able to do the watches justice in terms of photographing them. Jed's a really great guy too and chatting to him was a real eye opener into the inner sanctum of the watch collecting world. He's quite clearly a recognised expert in this field and was off to do appraisals for a well known international auction house ........ So I now know of at least one auction house I can trust the watch's catalogue description..... In terms of my collection, I wasn't buying on this occasion, just meeting up for a chat....... But Jed's got so many beauties, it's hard for those seeds not to be sown All the best |

Beautiful watches and wrist shots. Nice of Jed to let try those dream grails and take pics, not surprised though since he loves sharing his vast knowledge on Rolexes enthusiastically with us here:).
