GMT II as a back up on the way!

Well, I always believe when it comes to critical equipement you should have a back up. So since I like my TT GMT II so much I decided today to buy a SS GMT II as a back up. Should be here in the next couple of weeks!

That is it, and I mean it, for me buying watches!!

Now must figure out a way to brush out those polished center links when the watch arrives.

Must get back to buying custom folding/pocket knives - much cheaper!

That will now give me a collection of two GMT IIs and two Explorer IIs.

(OK, I still want to get an Omega Seamaster with see through back)

Have several Chris Reeve (couple Sebenzas and a rare fixed bladed model)
One Randall (#15 Custom)
Nice collection of Khurkis from Nepal
Couple custom Andre Devilleirs
Many Swiss Army Knives
Big Collection of Spyderco
Couple Benchmade
Couple custom made/hand made Japanese Katanas

Probably will buy a few more Chris Reeve and also like some of the www.wilsontactical.com models. And want to get a few more Randalls.

I really LOVE "Swiss Army Knives" (Victorinox only, btw, don't care for Wenger).

IMHO, Swiss Army Knives are just SOOO Swiss and kind of like Rolex watches. You can depend on them, and they really do their job well!

I have quite a few of them, too, including a small one which has a 1 GB USB flash memory integrated in it.

Chad-

I have done the very same thing. I have a TT GMT and a SS Gmt. Tonight at work I am wearing my TT. Depending on my mood I will wear whatever one. Been in the TT mood lately. My Orbita winder keeps one happily wound when not wearing it. Now, I have been toying with the idea of getting a YM or Daytona. Not sure which style yet?

I 've never seen integrated flash memory on a victorinox. Wow that's a cool feature

Cool Chad. Was my AD a help, or were you able to find it elsewhere?

Either way, sounds like an excellent plan to have a backup.

I have a new SS GMT also (116710)... Centre Links?? no problem, Cape Cod Metal Polishing Cloths work like a dream... creats a mirror image... cut a small strip, wrap around a Q-Tip and of you go... not to hard and with the grain of the metal\

You will be suprised how well it works on SS and Gold... thus perfect for you TT GMT also

Rocking watch and great back-up

Hey Chad
Just in case, better get a back up for the back up so Gold GMT ingot next !

My Pams and the Sd haven't seen daylight since I picked up the SS GMT. I also think that the polished links work well with the watch. The whole package looks great.

Henri, You misunderstood, I want to brush out the polished center links, not polish them up shiney more! Don't like polished links, so will figure out a way to brush the center links. I love the way Rolex Brushed SS looks. To me the watch looks better with brushed steel, scrapes, scrathes, and a few minor dings!!!

I am sure this can be done, maybe your local Rolex service centre can assit you with this... de-polishing the centre links that is.

I personally would not change the original features / design of a Rolex watch, but if that if what you like... go for it !
