Dated/Undated Warranty cards with pro-owneds in the classifieds

***** Pre-owneds... Can't edit the title from my iPhone.

I've noticed a number of ads in the classifieds noting that the warranty card is either dated with no date mentioned or sometimes as undated.

If the card is undated does this mean I can fill out the date I was to receive the watch kicking off the warranty clock?

If the card is dated why do so few note what the date is as this gives an indication if there is any warranty left as well as how long the watch was "in service" for.

I am assuming in this context the card is labeled with a proper AD. Also, my understanding is that for warranty purposes the actual name in the card means nothing.

Thanks!

Technically NO the warranty would start when the watch is originally sold by the Rolex AD to the buyer... Gray dealer...consumer... The AD would alert Rolex to the sale and the warranty would begin.

Some sellers will sell a watch with an open card but it is my understanding that the warranty has already begun unless this seller is an AD. Being an AD they will likely complete the card with the buyers info on it.

Well in general the warranty is seldom needed anyway but dont think you would have any problem warranty wise if needed from any of the trusted sellers on forum it should be the same as AD bought.
