My application to the Global Assoc. of Retro-Grouch-Curmudgeon and Lug Hole Loyalists
First of all, here is my submission of evidence.
Serial number research suggests it was born the same year that I was. From now on I consider it to be an indisputable fact that it is so. I do have a few questions about procedure. 1. Do I need to get rid of my modern watches, or can I claim ignorance? I regrettably do have a certain emotional attachment to some of them. 2. Is it of any significance that I bought my 30++ year old watch just a few days ago, and that I did not buy it new and wear it since? 3. I'm afraid I really like solid end-links. Can an exception be made for me? |

You are lucky!
For me a birth-year rolex would be outrageously expensive! Wear yours in good health! |

If you get rid of your modern watches you will have more money to get lug holes.
Sell!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

Had I bought mine the year I was born it would only have been about $500, brand new. http://minus4plus6.com/PriceEvolution.htm It is a clear and undisputed fact that it was built and sold in 1977, and that all parts are entirely original. (Although I may have to hand the card back, I must admit I'm following the SKY-DWELLER thread with great interest. Bah, humbug!) |
