I'll start: Basel 2013 - what do you expect Rolex will do?

In Basel 2013 I predict a significant effort to fix clasps.

We thought Rolex bands were really great quality for years until the slide-lock clasp came around. Now, every vintage / legacy clasp and band has a cheap feel to it by comparison.

Rolex will focus on the No-Date Sub and get that up to snuff with the slide lock clasp. I think they'll also make a concerted effort to turn other professional series watches into the same capability. Milgauss? GMT?

The unintended consequence (benefit) of the new clasps is that it allows couples to share watches which in turn encourages "fashion buying", meaning that people buy many colors and styles and mix them out amongst the couple daily. You can't do that with old-school Rolex product.

That's my predictions for 2013. We'll have a year and a week to speculate.

Proabably something with the YM since the 18ct version has gone from the catalogue. That means a new 18ct this year hopefully which then should mean a bi-metal the year after

I think It will be the ceramic Daytona in 2 tone on bracelet as well as rose gold on bracelet.

New day date II dial options and possibly S/S Daytona dial options before they change to ceramic in 2013.

I would certainly agree with the notion. The dial on the Skydweller looks like a bottle cap. Where oh where do they find these design monstrosities?
