Man, am I lucky...

I wore my Explorer II to work today. I had to open a box, so I used my keys to cut through the tape. Slip! Doh!!! I hear metal hit metal. Afraid to look, I took peek. Yep, my key "gouged" the clasp. So, for the next hour or so, I keep telling myself everything I have read over and over on TRF. "it happens eventually", "it gives the watch character", etc.

Finally over the shock, I take a closer look. I notice an outline on the clasp. WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!

I missed one sticker, and it happened to be where I "gouged" the clasp. I peeled off the sticker, and.... Not even a scratch. It appears that the "gouge" just went partially through the sticker.

Sorry this was so long, but I had to tell someone. It is so comical because I always miss a sticker, and this time it actually helped.

hope you enjoyed the adventure.

Saved by the sticker!

The next scratch will hurt twice as bad though.

this is great!

I wonder what is the longest period of time wearing a new watch, that a person has found a sticker intact…

Well glad you didn't scratch it but it will happen. It's just a watch. No need to worry about it that much. I never understand what's the point of having nice things if you have to worry about them all the time. Better just to scratch it and get it over with. Cheers!!!!

Now that's exactly why I'm gonna buy a kids book of stickers and put them all over my sub when I get it!

I love this story. Very rare that something like this would actually be in your favour!

Ha ha it's the watches way of the saying... The first one is for free, next time it's real!!
