I am considering two tone, jubilee, black dial with stick markers, fluted bazel
Do you have any recommendations?
should i consider SS instead of two tone?
The other type of bracelet (forget the name) than jubilee?
any suggestions on dial?

I concur, try them on and see what you like. I personally like a white face with Roman numerals, and a smooth bezel. But, there are so many combinations in a DJ that would look great.

IMO you can never go wrong with Romans especially on a dj. For the rest I agree you need to head on over to an ad and try me on and see what smiles back at you

I just browsed the new catalog and counted 20+ variations of the DJ. Like others have said, head down to your local AD and try them on. I'm pretty sure something will stand out.

Yes, go try on and see what you like. There are numerous dial choices, and a jubilee and oyster bracelet wear differently. I'd also suggest you reconsider TT -- but then I'm a WG/SS guy. My partner wears a TT DJ and it works great for him -- he's in his 60's though.

I think it's a must that you give all those pieces a try at an AD before making a decision. Still, I personally prefer the two-tone model to the stainless steel since I'm more of a gold guy. As for the bracelet, the Oyster (the other one) looks more sporty than the Jubilee so it will be up to you and what kind of watch look you prefer (both look fine to me).

Having tried on a silver diamond dial WG fluted bezel on a Jubilee v a black Jubilee diamond dial smooth bezel tt rose Oyster just the other day I'd defo go for an oyster bracelet over a Jubilee as if feels more substantial on the wrist although it will be much more prone to swirlies/scratches etc.

Yes before buying wear each one to see how it looks, feels and sings to you!

I strongly believe TT DJs belong on Jubilees because it is iconic, and as much as I lke the TT Oyster, it seems to be more at home on a TT Sub or GMT. Keep in mind the Oyster's polished center links (PCL's) will scratch up quick. whereas on the jubilee you really can't see any scratches. Most importantly, I've worn both and the Jubilee simply is much more comfortable for me.

Dial? White with Romans is awesome. Very visible in all lighting. No lume but I doubt lume means much to DJ wearers in most cases.

It's harder to read time on a black dial. You have more contrast between hands & dial with White, Silver, etc....

If this is the one that appeals to you, you'll be picking a real classic. For a dressy watch, the black dial gives it a pretty sporty look.

When it comes to black dial versus white dial, two-tone versus stainless steel, romans vs. arabic vs. sticks, jubilee versus oyster bracelets, fluted bezel versus domed/smooth, there are no wrong answers. All of these choices are very current and stylish. Everyone will have their own preferences but what really matters is what you prefer. Look at them in person, try them on and get what you love. In summary, for a sport look go with the Oyster bracelet for a classic model then jubilee. In regards to the dial there are a lot of options. Just visit an AD and enjoy the experience.

For what it is worth, I have a 116234 DJ which had a silver dial but I pretty quickly became bored with the lack of contrast between the dial and the bracelet. I had the dial switched to a black stick, similar to photos above, and couldn't be happier. As others have said, try some on and enjoy the experience-good luck!

I bought a Datejust with rhodium dial, roman numerals, 18ct fluted bezel. Loved the watch but I am 6'3" and I wanted a bigger watch. I gave my wife the watch and she had a pink wave face put in with diamonds at the 9 and 3. I'm replacing it with a Datejust II, black face with stick indexes.
