I really like my 16610LV, but would any of you sell it to get a 14060M ND Classic Sub before they are gone forever? Looking to TRF for opinions.

I'm not saying that i will give up my LV-C, but would like the opinion of the people on the board and the rationale behind their opinion. I appreciate everyone taking the time to express their views.

Please keep in mind that i do not have the disposable income right now to go buy a 14060M random SN outright.

Depends on if you absolutely need to be the first owner of a BNIB 14060M? Otherwise I say don't flip and get a gently used one when you can afford to buy. There will be plenty around for some time.

I like my LV-C, but can't finance a classic 14060M at the moment. Maybe the option is to save and get one pre-loved.... I'm sure one of our trusted sellers can source me one. I just want the opinions of TRF.

Maybe a 114060 ND Sub-C, but I already have a Hulk that I dearly love. I cannot justify having two ceramic Subs. I really want a classic lug-holed Sub ND, but the new bracelet and Glidelock clasp has spoiled me and I really hate the old hollow-link bracelet and Tuna Can clasp. hence the reason why I had a Omega Seamaster for years; the bracelet and clasp were far superior IMHO until the new solid-link bracelet and Glidelock was introduced a few years back.

I have tried to bond with the ND, but just knowing that I do not have solid end links.... well it didn't make it a month before it was gone. No problem with the "tuna can" clasp as you call it. I don't think you are missing much not buying the 14060M. Now if you said a Seadweller, 16610LV or 16710 that would be another story.

The clean 2-line, smooth rehaut 14060M has been out-of-production for nearly five years.

Not long ago, all Rolexes had tuna-can clasps and thin cases and lug holes. Those things weren't what set apart the 14060 (or its predecessor, the 5513) from almost every other sport Rolex produced in the last 40 years. It was the minimalist design.

If you're after the minimalist look with your name on the warranty, you should try to find a NOS 2-liner.

Would you buy a 14060M if it did not have a random serial myself cannot think why a serial is so important.If you want to own a classic Rolex then yes get a 14060M no matter what the case stamp.

i take the 14060M over the LV in a heartbeat...since you already got a HULK which pretty much representing both LV and the modern Rolex features...a classic Sub will be just the only thing to acquire IMHO....

The more i meet people who sell their LV, the more i come to believe that the green isn't for everyone. Sell it, so it becomes unique and exclusive

Thanks guys for the reality check. I like the LV-C too much to part with it and all this Basel hype has messed with my head.

I'm not going to pull a "Dino."

But in his defense, he wants to upgrade to gold. I'm actually digressing if I go for a 14060M or 114060.

the 14060 and the 14060M I've owned were both way too small for me, They were not comfortable to wear even on nato.

Watch collecting is not a rational hobby, really, except of course, unless it yields profits, which is the only important human activity regardless of our purported ideals.

I happen to think that my recently acquired, randomly-numbered 14060M is a very special Rolex, but there is nothing objective to support that supposition at this time.

I feel that way, because it is among the last of a breed and if it has the blue Parachrom hairspring that makes it even more special to me.

How others feel about my sentiments is meaningless to me, as I'm never going to sell it, so if I think that it's the most valuable watch in the world, that's what it is.

I simply bought this watch because I like it and time was running out, not because it might appreciate at a faster rate than some other models.

Neither watches are going anywhere anytime soon. As others have said, enjoy the LV, you can pick up any condition 14060M on the used market for many years to come!
