F Serial Numbers for Sale

I've noticed a fair amount of "F" serial Rolexes for sale lately, more so than other serials. Any guess as to the reason(s) or is it just coincidence?

Those people who have F's are looking to improve their grade.

I just sold off an F. I guess it's about the time frame for owning a watch before moving along.

No significance whatsoever a F serial is just like many others over the past 20 odd years. All it means is that a case was stamped sometime between Sept 2003 till around March 2005.And in most cases the changes in many Rolex watches since 1988/9 are purely a few fonts, SEL, and cosmetic details. And again on some models very slight modification to the movement on some GMT watches.Main changes to say the sub range a block case new type clasp and a slither of very expensive ceramic and thats about. So today the main upgrade in most Rolex watches is whether precious metal diamonds and the price.

MY opinion would be this too.
Maybe in the next 1-2 years we will start seeing more of next series for sale.

Rolex have never made a series of any watches all they are is nothing more than a serial case number. Much like you find on most any other products like say any electrical product today.

Perhaps there are more "F's" out in the world than other serial letters? These would have been produced when the economy was better... but I do not know for sure, and doubt very many folks have actual production numbers. I have bought/sold/traded about 20 Rolexes over the past few years, and most of them were F's.... Coincidence???? maybe, maybe not...

Even if the above is incorrect, maybe it is due to the fact that a 16610 F could be bought new for mid 3ks, and can be sold for mid 4k's... a good time to flip into somthing else!

Just my 2 cents!
