New DFW member, new purchase
How about that for getting off to a fast start?
While I've been registered here for a while, I've never posted or introduced myself. All that changed when my search for an IWC Portuguese brought me here last week, culminating in a purchase from Brian8121! Whee..... While always peripherally aware of them, I've been increasingly interested in watches the past 4-5 years and like others have lusted and looked at many. The list is still long, but I'm patient and tend to get things that I've really contemplated once and keep them for along time, or forever. Somehow, this makes my wife comfortable..... No Rolex in my stable right now, and honestly don't see one on the immediate horizon. You know those guys who tend to avoid them due to the negative aspects of the image in spite of what great timepieces they are? Well, that's always been me. Ironically, I drive a BMW. Yes, the car of cocks everywhere (but especially on Top Gear!). I'd like to think I don't fit the profile, but couldn't resist the goodness of this particular model. I can see how the same applies to the Rolex that I probably must have eventually. I have to admit though, that the more I look at models like the GMT, I can truly see myself picking one up sometime. I'll even admit that after coming back here a week ago, I have perused many, many of the ads here and keep thinking "wow, I might just have to get one." I'm sure it's just a matter of time. Anyway, long intro, but thanks for the great forum and resources available here. I think you may see more of me about, and I'll try to add to the discussions wherever possible. George |
