Icon2 Black Bay - strap or bracelet?

not only another black bay thread, but, another black bay poll, too!

yes, obviously need to see them in the flesh, but, looking at the pix that are available, do you have a preference between the strap and the bracelet?

to me, the strap really goes well with the watch, but, it would definitely tip the watch to a very casual watch.....plus, it's a diver, so, bracelet makes more sense.....but, that strap is so fine looking......

I would get it with the bracelet and then source a strap from somewhere else. There are many makers of very nice leather straps.

Options, options, options always keep them open, get both and a few others to add to your choices!

I'd probably get it with the bracelet and try and buy the leather band by itself if that were possible.

aaaaaaaah, yes, good point, didn't think of that (and i'm a PAM strap addict, too ).

although i was thinking of the question in terms of "OEM out of the box", i think your response is the correct answer.

I love that they are offering a nicely "aged" strap, BUT, do you think they could have done a little better with some kind of endlink? The pic above really highlights the gap I have seen in other pics. Maybe it's just me, and it's all part of the vintage aesthetic...

Strap for me...perfect combination and I have enough watches on bracelets! The BB belongs on a strap.

looks better with the strap, but makes more sense to get the bracelet first.

There's a great solution for that.

that's why i'm saving for the tudor pelagos, the bracelet end link stays on so you can use it with the rubber strap or nato.

Eugene [Etur] makes custom end links used w/ leather straps for many Rolex/ Tudor references to fill the gap, including Tudor chronos.

personally, i think, for a watch like the black bay, the gap is appropriate. especially with the aged strap...a bit more "tool watch" looking.

I think you should always buy the bracelet, order leather with it or buy an after market leather.

Have you ever tried to buy a bracelet after the fact, they cost a fortune. Just check the prices for Rolex, Tudor and Omega bracelets.

Buy the bracelet, you might be pleasantly surprised if/when you sell it

so true a leather strap can always be obtain. I've never seen a rolex sport model came out the box with a leather band.

Thanks for this poll Cru! I voted for like the strap, however, would most likely wind up with the bracelet version! There are way too many timepieces to pick up! My list should be shrinking not growing!

Agree. The endlinks look great, but it gives a kind of dressy look I think might conflict withe the spirit of the BB. But I`m not sure yet.

I voted bracelet but that distressed leather strap matches the dial perfectly. I'd eventually try to source the strap.
