Bond book fans

I am reading the latest Fleming estate licensed Bond book..... Carte Blanche
007 by Jeffrey Deaver.......1/2 way thru, very good.
I've read most of the Bond books...Fleming, Gardner, Benson(1st American licensed to write & IMHO better than Gardner) & Faulks (not so hot).....this one by Deaver is very readable, check it out if you are a fan.
p.s. I just found out that Lee Child turned the gig down....I like him, but Deaver's not bad.......p.p.s. you big watch guys might not dig it....Bond wears a 34mm datejust.

I'm afraid that, to me, the Bond books finished the day Ian Fleming went to the big Goldeneye in the sky...

In the new book is bond not ex-SBS? Not many of those lads are what one would describe as "the suave sophisticated type"! Far more likely to be found playing "freckles" in the NAAFI Bar (and, if you don't know what that is, for the love of all that's good and holy... DON'T ASK!!!!!

Perhaps he'll have to play a game of freckles with the baddie. It won't make it to the movie, of course

I read it back in November - really enjoyed the book. It was the first non-Fleming Bond book that I've read so can't really compare it to the others.

I've read all of the Fleming Bond novels w/ the exception of Octopussy, which is next on my list.
