An expensive day for me......
On Tuesday I received a call from my AD, who recently lost the Rolex line... He wanted to know if I was interested in any of his remaining stock which he was offering at a nice discount to his regular customers. Having purchased 17 Rolexes from him over the past 13 years, I guess I qualified. Going over his inventory over the phone, the only piece I had an interest in was a SS DJ Turn-o-graph (116264) w/ white dial. He said he would put it aside until I had a chance to stop bye and see it. I made it there today, and with an offer of a 35% discount, I of course snapped it up.....
I didn't realize that the date wheel was all red, I thought it was a roulette wheel, but I'm ok with the all red. So, while there I checked out the display case and there was the YG DJ (116138) which has been hanging around his store for the past 5 or so years. I know because I had inquired about it before, but the deal was not right. So I asked again today what price he would give me on it, and he said he woud discount it 40%.... So I said OK..... So I ended up with 2 new watches, but I think the prices were right. Man I'm going to miss him as an AD!! |

Simply outstanding Don! The TOG is one of the most understated and under rated datejust out there and one of my personal favorites! I have no words for your 116138 what a day! Wear them both in good health!

Nice pickups! The SS/WG TOG in white with the Oyster is my absolute favorite piece in the current DJ lineup.
Just out of curiosity, did they have anything else left in stainless? Feel free to communicate via PM if you feel it more appropriate. |

Very nice.....being a repeat customer has its perks! I can't decide between the two.
I wonder about the DJ and the strap, and if, during five years on display, anything is done to the leather to keep it fresh. |
