DJ Bent Jubilee Bracelet

This isn't how I imagined my intro post, but...

Not sure how this happened. I took it to my AD (Mayor's) and they informed me that there was no way to fix it. What say you? Thanks in advance for any information.

The watch is a 2000ish two-tone Datejust with 455b endlinks.

I would say yes you can fix it. However, it wont look like new as you will have to cut and repair possibly replace the gold chain links, but yes it can be fixed.

No watchmaker will be able to do it. I'm sure if you send it to RSC they will replace your bracelet by selling you a new one. I would recommend taking it to a jeweler have them do the repair. I've seen worse and they have been fixed.

But for a 2000ish you should not have holes on your case, I'm guessing your watch is before 1990s
anyhow best of luck.

Thanks for your response!

My AD told me my only option was to purchase a new Jubilee bracelet from Rolex for $3k! Perhaps I need to look around for a competent jeweler.

Also, thanks for the bit of info on the case.

Rather easy fix , not stretched too much.

Nothing a little patiente , technical sight and a set of small wrenches can't fix.

Take of the bracelet then the endlink. From there you'll be able to see the damage.

Agree--they simply need to be reshaped. They will likely prove to be stretched fairly significantly and it will take some effort [perhaps cutting and soldering] to reshape those links. By the time you pay someone to do this, they will have a few hundred bucks worth of time in it, but some who does gold repair can help you...

What if you replace it in the meantime with some end links and a classy leather band? That way, you still get it enjoy it and the date-just looks good in leather.

All, thanks so much for your input. It would seem I have to look around.

Do you happen to have a link to where I can find these end links? I recall some I saw on this forum but they were only stainless while my watch is two-tone.

Thank you!

Eugene (Etur) can do two-tone if you want. PM him.
