Why is the GMTIIC such a cool watch?
I don't know why, but I have not worn any of my other non-work Rolexes for the past 3 weeks. It's been nearly 100% the GMTIIC when I'm not at work (I use the Sub Date for work)... the Daytona and GV are sleeping in the drawer.
I don't know what it is... I think it's just because it has a little bit of bling and it has all the current upgrades to the Rolex Sports Line - the ceramic, the parachrome, the maxi dial, the maxi hands, the anti-reflective cyclops. Add to that the nice proportions and the fact that the bezel is nearly flush against the top of the sapphire crystal... wow! Also, let's not forget the green text and the green GMT hand... such a cool little treat. I don't know... maybe I'm crazy, but why do you like your GMTIIC?

'cause it is one of the best, if not the best, Rolex sport watches yet. I always enjoy mine. The 24 hours on the bezel is just sooooooooo nice ( there are those who think it looks busy.)

I love the way it looks! Only thing I wish different is more positions that the bezel can turn for timing things. If it did like the older version it would be my daily watch.

But I can see your point about timing things... but this is a GMT and not a diving watch.

so many reasons, but it is truly an all around watch. it goes with any occasion and IMHO is the perfect size watch. love the touch of green, and the bezel. literally everything about this watch is awesome.
i intended on getting the PCL's brushed, but no longer. i think that is one of my favorite parts of this watch.

I am not too sure either, but it probably has a lot to do with its size, PCL, and bling effect.

this has been my 4th rolex and the only one that has stayed (though i do kick myself so often for letting go of my 16600).
i think its appeal is just that it is so well balanced - it looks tough enough and is functional enough for the tool watch aspect, it has just the right amount of bling to satisfy the dressy and pop aspect, and it wears extremely comfortably on the wrist. its proportions are also well balanced, as opposed to some of the other newer maxi-case variants so the dial, case, and bracelet are all in harmony. i actually prefer the sub line - but honestly if one were to have one rolex and one rolex only, it would be hard for me not to say the gmt-c is perfect because it covers all the bases so well. |

I can't take mine off..It's been too fricken months! My datejust and airking have been heavily sleeping! I went to the AD thinking I was purchasing a Sub-C..walked out with the GMT 2C...Never have regretted it for one minute..I believe the bezel is more appealing as well as the touch of green!

The PCL's on a tool watch such as the GMT is a terrible mistake IMO. That is easily remedied though as many have done. Bezel is too blingy, should be matt. Much prefer the 'older' style. 16710

Ditto. I have the Hulk sub, green Milgauss, and white dial Daytona, but the GMTII-C gets a lot more wrist time than all the others combined. The Hulk I love, it's my 'special' watch, so I baby it, the Milgauss I've put a strap on it for when I want to go super casual, and the Daytona is lovely, but it's not a perfect everyday watch.
The GMTII-C has it all so it's become my everyday watch now. |

You guy's are going to think this is so absurd... But I am sosososos in love with this watch!
Guess what though? I purchased one around my bday in 2011, it SAT in the box for like 8 months... I just recently sold it, was brand new and I never wore it.. I took it out and admired it all of the time, it was just SO BEAUTIFUL, like I didn't want to mess it up? Yet I have other pieces that are worth way more and wear all of the time and could care less, I can't even analyze my train of thought myself, and even think and reading what I am writing sounds so crazy. Suffice to say, I am seeking out another, and will wear the hell out of it. I think I always put it aside as I had a Deepsea too, and always wound up throwing that on as it felt more substantial.. But , the GMT is just perfection :) |

I bought my GMTIIc in June last year and have worn it everyday since, at the weekend I bought a white face SS Daytona, I've been wearing that since and thought originally that I would sell the GMT. To be honest, I just can't do it, I think they will both be staying, I even think deep down that I'd let the Daytona go first.
Love it |

I guess the bold type hour marks make the bezel more present compared to the sub. I love my TT GMT IIc. Love in first sight and had a great chance to obtain this masterpiece from a local TRF member, too.
My routine watch is the explorer I 39mm, it is so classic too.

And it is also sooo comfortable. It sits low on the wrist unlike the Subs.
