Bracelet stretching

I've seen the pictures! But are all bracelet's doomed to stretch? Will they all have to be replaced eventually?

Just curious since I like wearing my watches tight (about 1/4 of an inch movement up and down the wrist). Wondering if this will cause it to stretch even more.

Thanks :)

Don't worry, we all stretch a little as we age

The majority believe it's more about dirt, debris and grim getting into the bracelet rather than wearing style.

If you wash it out well (throw away what you've read you can get the watch wet ) once a week it is probably the best medicine to prevent stretch.....

general views seem to be tighter is better , less impacting as links move ,,,, me , im the opposite , loose loose loose ,, but i do find a stretched bracelet more comfy to wear. its mechanical , it will wear , its life .
just keep them clean and enjoy.

Yup to suggestions above. A precise fit to your wrist, plus clean links will keep stretch at bay.

All bracelets are doomed, eventually, if they're worn. 20 years, 30 years, 50+ years? Who knows?

No telling which will go first though, you or the bracelet.

- or in many cases the Rolex gets flipped before it's an issue

As mentioned, they all wear out eventually. A bracelet is considered an expendible part..

Wearing it snug is a good way to avoid stretch.. the bracelet doesn't actually stretch by pulling on it.. It is steel and your wrist will break before you actually stretch it..

What happens is that the parts wear against each other, wearing it thinner and thinner.. when it gets real thin then it becomes weak enough to stretch and crack...

Keep it clean and wear to a minimum and it will last 20 or 30 years, easily...

Perfect as always

Wear and Enjoy is the best advice I can give you, everything will wear out and break in time... it is not worth your time to stress and worry about it

Just keep them clean then there is no reason why any oyster bracelet should not last for 20-30 years. Its the dirt grit sweat etc that acts like a abrasive it get between the bracelet pin holes and elongates these holes the metal does not stretch its pin wear.

27 years and still ticking. However, it's stretched. I've wondered by how much. Mine is an old Jubilee w/ hollow 18K links. 18K is soft on a good day.

Newer Jubilee bracelets have solid center links.
Should reduce stretch while shrinking your wallet ;)

Enjoy. Time's short.

Buy more Rolex watches. If you rotate enough of them you will have no problems.

I prefer to call it "relaxed" fit. Ya know like Levi's after 10 years of use.

I do have a 30+ y.o. DJ with the Rolex USA Jubilee with hollow oval 18k center links. It drapes nicely on the wrist...

I don't know about you, Dr. Robert, but I snap, crackle, and pop. I guess I'm Rice Krispies.
